I have been really busy for the last five weeks painting. I have been using some new techniques that I learned from watching TV personality and artist Wayne Clements, when he was painting on site recently at Orion Shopping Centre in Springfield Lakes and then Sunnybank Hills S/C. Wayne has his own TV Show called “Art Studio”. Some of the new techniques include using large brushes, for instance a 2 1/2″ brush for painting the skies and 1″ to 2″ for folliage. Everything is painted wet on wet, so all the light areas are covered in white paint and then colours being applied are blended in. This gives a lovely soft effect to the paintings. Here are a couple of examples of the recent oil paintings I have done. They depict typical Australian outback scenes.
